Classroom Instructors

Carolark. is looking for class instructors to teach  our existing cirriculum and programs and support their further development.

​

A great candidate will enjoy working with both people and dogs. 

 

Carolark’s primary service is teaching people who are working to train their pet dogs in the context of group dog training classes. 

 

Carolark is committed to a force-free and positive reinforcement training philosophy.

As a trainer, you may be on track to complete or have completed CPDT-KA, PPAB, or similar accreditation or have the experience and knowledge that align with those accomplishments.

Responsibilities/Expectations for Classroom Instructors:

  • You will complete set-up and takedown for your classes.

  • You will guide students in order to help them  reach the benchmarks as outlined in the curriculum

  • You are patient with inexperienced and novice dog owners 

  • Class curriculum and tools and supplies to deliver your class are provided to you.

  • You are able to communicate concerns to Carolark's management so we can work towards resolution

  • You have a professional, positive, enthusiastic personality and do well in a fast-paced atmosphere.

  • Greet clients and their dogs in a warm friendly manner.

  • Practice safe handling of dogs.

  • Use provided tools to review your scheduled classes, registration and to track attendance.

  • Qualifications:

  • You are confident and effective as a trainer using force-free/fear-free training methods.

  • You have a working knowledge of learning theory.

  • You have excellent communication skills.

  • You have excellent problem-solving skills and enjoy working through training challenges with dogs and their handlers.

  • Ability to work alone as well as within a team.

  • You can reliably be at Carolark to carry out your duties.

  • You are punctual.

  • Familiarity with Carolark’s programs is an asset but not mandatory.

  • Available on weekday late afternoon, evenings and on weekends.
