Owner
Dayna is the owner of Carolark.
Dayna’s passion for animal behaviour and welfare is built on a strong academic foundation and a commitment to lifelong learning. She has completed specialized certificate courses in Canine Emotion and Cognition through Duke University and Animal Welfare and Behaviour through the University of Edinburgh, providing her with a science-based understanding of canine learning, cognition, emotional wellbeing, and behaviour.
She is an Accredited Dog trainer And Certified Dog Behaviour Consultant through the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC), one of the world's leading organizations for evidence-based animal behaviour professionals. Dayna has earned a reputation for helping dogs and their families navigate even the most complex behavioural challenges with compassion, patience, and practical solutions.
Dayna also holds a certification in canine nutrition consulting from the Companion Animal Sciences Institute. She frequently factors nutrition into her behaviour practice.
Dayna's expertise spans every stage of a dog's life. She works closely with ethical breeders to conduct litter assessments and puppy temperament evaluations, helping match puppies with homes that best suit their individual personalities and future lifestyles. She also assists prospective owners in selecting puppies whose temperaments align with their goals, whether they are looking for an active companion, family pet, sport prospect, or future working dog.
Her work extends far beyond puppyhood. Dayna specializes in developing individualized training and behaviour modification plans for dogs experiencing fear, anxiety, reactivity, aggression, and other behavioural concerns. She has extensive experience working with human-directed aggression, dog-dog reactivity, resource guarding, fear-based behaviours, and complex cases that require thoughtful assessment and long-term behaviour change strategies. Her approach is rooted in the latest scientific research, emphasizing positive reinforcement, ethical behaviour modification, and the emotional wellbeing of both dogs and their owners.
In addition to behaviour consulting, Dayna is passionate about educating owners and empowering them with the knowledge and skills needed to build lasting relationships with their dogs. She believes that successful training comes from understanding why behaviour occurs, not simply changing what the dog does. By combining evidence-based training methods with clear communication and individualized coaching, she helps clients create practical, sustainable solutions that improve quality of life for both ends of the leash.
Whether she is guiding first-time puppy owners, supporting breeders, or helping families through serious behavioural challenges, Dayna is dedicated to providing compassionate, science-based care that prioritizes both welfare and results. Her goal is to help every dog reach their full potential while fostering stronger, more trusting relationships between dogs and the people who love them.
