Confidence Building for Young or Shy Dogs

PREREQUISITES

- Over 5 months of age and Under 12 months of age on the date you start

- Expected to be under 20lbs fully grown

- If expected to be larger than 20lbs as an adult you have been referred to this class by your puppy class instructor. 

- Recommended but not Mandatory - Puppy Manners and Socialization

Please ensure your dog is up to date on their vaccinations, including rabies, or have a letter from your veterinarian. Please read our Class Policies and Training Guidelines before you register.

 

WHAT YOU LEARN

You will learn basic training for good manners in an effective friendly manner, including how to manage your dog’s behaviour, eliminate unwanted behaviours and how to focus on good behaviours. This class also incorporates activities to support building confidence and comfort with people, other dogs and the environment. Behaviours taught will include sit, down, stand, come when called, leave it, stay, polite greetings, and attention to the handler with increasing distractions. After graduating from this class your pup can go into Good Manners- Level II.

 

Our goal is that Off-leash playtime is part of this class, but it will de dependent on the pups in the class.

Please use the "Class Schedule" button for the list of available classes.  To register for any of our classes you can use our online service to register or contact the office    This class runs with open enrollment in some timeslots.  This means that who is in the class may change from week to week as new teams join and others complete the class.

This class focuses on foundation skills through activities promoting body awareness, balance and confidence. We are building relationships with interactive play, brain and body training games. A good choice for the shy, active or sporty pup!

 

PREREQUISITES

This class is for dogs who have completed Carolark’s Puppy Manners and Socialization class and are under 10 months of age.  Your dog should be dog and people safe.
