Ty Brunet

Ty with a Red Austrlian Cattle dog in front of agility equipment.

Ty initially planned to help animals through policy, studying environmental economics at the University of Ottawa, but wanted to find a way to work more directly with animals. After graduating in the spring of 2021, he got a job at a dog daycare and training facility, where he was given a copy of Karen Pryor’s Don’t Shoot the Dog! and things just clicked: since then, he has been striving to develop his knowledge and skills as a trainer.

Ty enrolled at the Academy for Dog Trainers in the summer of 2022 and works with dogs at a rescue and boarding facility. He joined Carolark as a classroom assistant in the spring of 2023 and started to take on instructor duties in the fall of 2023.
