Laurie Ackland, CPDT-KA, Fear Free Certified Professional

 

Laurie is an accredited dog trainer via the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT).  She is a member of the Pet Professional Guild (PPG – The Association for Force Free Professionals), the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) and has her DogSafe Canine First Aid certification.

Laurie is active in the canine rescue community, and specializes in training fearful and reactive dogs, helping them to feel safe and develop the skills to make good choices.  She currently serves as Training Consultant with Barks and Meows Rescue.

Laurie has over a decade of in-class instruction experience as well as working one on one with her private clients.  She regularly attends professional conferences and workshops to keep current with the best in class Industry techniques.

 

Laurie’s cherished animal family includes rescued dogs Sadie (a 10 year old Bernese Mountain Dog; Fred (a 4 year old Vizsla); Scout (a 13 week old mixed breed pup) and Gord the cat.
