Things You Need to Know
(for all new enrollees)
As part of Carolark’s commitment to teaching people and pets, all new enrollees to our program will receive an extra week of training to help you learn about canine behaviour and training. Our preferance is that you are able to attend the orientation in advance of the class you will attend with your dog. This 60 minute orientation is part of our Puppy Manners and Socialization and Good Manners Level I classes. During orientation, you will learn the benefits of positive reinforcement training, understand how dogs learn, how to reward positive behaviours and manage problems, the benefits of clicker training, how to introduce the clicker, plus some fun training to start with your dog at home.
To best accommodate your schedule, multiple dates and times are available. Please indicate on the online registration form which orientation is your preference. Pre-registration for the orientation session is necessary to ensure appropriate group sizes. All human family members are welcome to attend. Please leave your dog at home for this session. We look forward to meeting you soon!
